Ty Gillis

I am 40 years old, happy married to the love of my life, have 4 wonderful kids, and love the Lord.

I grew up in the beach community of Satellite Beach, in Brevard County, Fl. I lived in the same house for twenty years, across the street from the beach. I rode my bike to school, and sometimes I would walk the beach home. During the summers, I was at the beach everyday, and back in the 80's you really didn't have to worry about anyone doing anything to you. So me and a friend would start out in the morning and wouldn't come home until the afternoon.

After High School, I joined the Air Force Reserves and trained to be a Medical Technician. This was at the beginning of the first Gulf War. By the time I was done with training, the war was over, and my Unit was coming home. I was never able to really do anything with in the service, and served my hitch and got out.

After returning home, I became depressed, that I had not really done anything, and was doing the job that I ended, when I enlisted; being a Sales Associate at Sears. Talk about one step forward, two back. But this is what God wanted me to do, because I met my wife to be at this time.

I'm an odd combination of personas. My large, have a loud booming voice, am very opinionated, but I don't really think much of myself. Everyone assumes that I'm some kind of jerk, when really I like to joke around and am very passionate about certain things; My Country, My God, and My Family. Not necessarily in that order. I know what I know. I love this Country, and would die for it. I love my God and would die for him. I love my family and would die for any of them. But people don't really seem to understand these things.

To finish my Bio, I have spent the last 17years rising through the ranks of a career field, only to have been laid off a year and a half ago. I had a career in Construction Management, and the economy has basically made my career field non-existent. Because my area has a large percentage of unemployed due to the lay offs at Cape Canaveral, there are Aeronautical Engineers working at Burger King, and driving garbage trucks. I have applied to many, many, many jobs, but to no avail. So I'm stuck. Waiting for God to show me the door to walk through.

As I said, I am an odd combination of personas, and am a very complicated person. The important things are what I have shared with you. Very thing else is back ground noise.
